Device Setup Guide

Your username is your SugarCRM username
Your password is your Calendar Publish Key
NB: Username is case sensitive!

Follow the instructions below in order to use the Opacus SugarCRM Activities Sync with your calendaring application/device.

iPhone / iPad   Android   Thunderbird + Lightning   iCal

iPhone / iPad

1 Navigate to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars
2 Select Add Account
3 Choose Other
4 Choose Add Caldav Account

5 In the Server field enter your SugarCRM url
6 Enter your username and password (your calendar publish key from inside your SugarCRM 'My Account' settings page).
The username is case-sensitive, so if your username begins with a capital please ensure this is reflected in your device.

The connection will take some time and appear to fail (if your server uses https you can click continue instead of cancel when your iPhone asks if it should continue using SSL).

Your iPhone will, after a short time, pop up a box informing you that it cannot verify the account information, but the advanced settings will now be available.

7 Choose Advanced Settings. If your server supports https choose SSL on and port 443, otherwise choose no SSL and port 80. In the URL field enter your sugarcrm url followed by the caldav path, as follows.

http://[SUGARCRM-URL]/sas/principals/[USERNAME]

where [SUGARCRM-URL] is your SugarCRM instance URL and [USERNAME] is your username from step 6. Most of this url will already be in the box, including the shorthand port number (e.g. :443)

8 Press the back button (Caldav), then Next, and after a short pause your server should be configured.

You can now navigate to the Calendar and complete the set up.

9 Click Calendars, and tick the default calendar under your server name (the description field from step 6).

Your calendar should now be fully configured and available.
PLEASE NOTE:
If you have a large quantity of meetings in SugarCRM the first refresh of the calendar may take some time.

Android

Connecting to a CalDAV server using Android currently requires a third-party app, Calendar Sync, available from the Android Market. Once installed follow the instructions below:

1. Open Calendar Sync
2. Click on the settings button and choose Add Calendar
3. In the Connection section, add your SugarCRM url as follows:

http://[SUGARCRM-URL]/sas/calendars/[USERNAME]/default

4. Enter your username (Your SugarCRM username)
5. Enter your password (your Calendar Publish Key)
6. In the Sync section choose your preferences. You can untick the One Way Sync checkbox if you want to be able to create events in Android that will be sent to SugarCRM.
7. Your calendar is now configured. To add calls follow the same instructions, changing 'default' to 'calls' in step 3. Multiple calendar support in Android relies on the Google account linked to the phone. More details can be found here.

Thunderbird + Lightning

1. Install Lightning extension (Tools -> Addons -> Get Addons)
2. After Thunderbird restarts select Events & Tasks -> Calendar from main menu
3. Right click in the left hand panel and select "New Calendar"

http://[SUGARCRM-URL]/sas/calendars/[USERNAME]/default
where [SUGARCRM-URL] is your SugarCRM instance URL and [USERNAME] is your username

6. Give your new calendar a Name
7. Enter the username and calendar publish key

To add calls please follow the same process replacing "default" in step 5 with "calls".
